NIKE Global Welcome Video

Cutting through the clutter of on-boarding at a Fortune 100 enterprise to welcome new employees in true Nike fashion.

The Ask: How can Nike go beyond the bland on-boarding of most giant corporations to welcome new employees from Beaverton to Barcelona in a way that honors a culture and heritage as colorful as its products?

The Idea: Recognize this is a dream-come-true for most by inspiring new employees with a dreamlike production that puts them at the center, inspiring them to serve athletes from Day 1.

My Role: Concept, producer, director, editor and creative team lead.

Creative Development & Production

The Approach:

  • We began by coordinating with Nike’s Office of the COO and Global Talent Management to uncover the key messages for new employees.

  • After aligning on a creative concept and treatment, we built a creative team that included designers, writers, camera operators and a visual effects artist.

  • Production included multiple field and studio shoots to capture heritage art installations and a diverse range of staff from different functions and nationalities.

  • We sourced B-Roll from the geos to showcase the depth and breadth of Nike’s connection to athletes and consumers around the world.

The Treatment:

  • We captured the COO’s message on a white cyc stage to evoke purity and timelessness.

  • The visual effects brought to life photo-real elements of leadership’s key messages boldly staged across a variety of Nike’s global campus landmarks.

  • Hero shots and heritage art installations were shot on Steadicam rigs to make it seem as if you are floating through a dream state.

  • We developed a transition style of racking between lenses on an old film camera takes you from one perspective to the next to add dynamic, dreamy cuts stitched together with light leaks.
